Ireland Trip Day 15: Dublin St. Patrick’s Day (Draft)

Day 15: Dublin Saint Patrick’s Day
Got up a bit later than we have all trip and had a mocha from red bean roastery and a sausage and bacon sandwich. Taxi to national museum of Ireland archeology. Cool! Then off to stand in the crowd to try and watch part of the parade. It was nuts. Got into a Cafe shop just before they closed off the toliet. Watched the madness then made our way to Bar Rue for bite to eat and drinks.
Telling Distillery – met John Teeling who started it in 1985 (dad of 2 boys)
Great time lots of info and photos and good tasting and bar
7pm we left and wondered around
We ended up at The Bison Bar which is a little more Americanized in my opinion but really good for BBQ and drinks. We grabbed a table and got drinks and sharing players and seafood chowder and cesear salad with chicken and pork butt bites. “Your salad has more kick than the BBQ!” -Michelle
I don’t like coleslaw and I’ve tried it several times in several places but the slaw here was amazing. It wasn’t vinegar-y or tangy. More of a mayo base and delicious! I ordered a bowl!
We then walked around and stopped in another rpub to listen to live music but we couldn’t get to the bar so we headed across the bridge and ordered a cab back to the hotel. It was later than planned but we got our bags organized and ready for the morning and booked out covid tests. We should have booked them sooner as the closest availability was 650 and 655.
